The Urban Commons Incubator Scheme is an educational programme that aims to nurture youngsters to create community projects based on the principles of commons, fostering community-based lifestyles, supporting social economy, protecting labour rights and promoting sustainable consumption. The inaugural edition focuses on Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai and Yuen Long, connecting Lingnan University with organisations and residents in the neighbouring districts via the network of Light Rail, the public transport serving only the northwest New Territories of Hong Kong

The inaugural, cross-disciplinary training scheme covers cultural theories, creative writing, technology and entrepreneurship related to urban commons. Under the guidance of workshop instructors, participants will submit project proposals to the Hostel Entrepreneurship Laboratory co-organised by Office of Student Affairs and Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative, Techstars Startup Weekend, Enactus @ LU or Hultprize @ LU that organized by Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative to secure the seed funding. Office of Student Affairs will offer venue support and encourage hall students to actively participate in this Scheme, creating projects that serve their halls.

Eligibility: Students from Lingnan University
Quota: 20
Fee:  Free of charge, travel allowances and a certificate will be provided to participants with over 80% of attendance rate.
